I was booking my travel for GLAMcamp NYC yesterday and it got me thinking about GLAM conferences, and how they are useful/important to the Wikimedia Community.
For a nerd like me, at least, GLAMcamps are exciting on several levels:
- They bring together Wikimedians and GLAM reps from all over the world (GLAMcamp NYC has Wikimedians coming from North America, Europe and Oceania and GLAM reps coming from various places in the USA).
- It’s a great way of getting documentation and case studies written up quickly, where people at home might do it in dribs and drabs and possibly even forget about it, people at events like this can sit down and do it in one shot (well, maybe more).
- It’s a great way to meet other, like-minded Wikimedians!
See you all in NYC!
